Congratulations on finishing your novel! Now what?

Every great story deserves thoughtful refinement, and I’m here to help you bring out the best in yours. Whether you need deep structural guidance or a final polish, my editing services are designed to enhance your writing while preserving your unique voice. Below, you’ll find an overview of the services I provide. When you’re ready, fill out the consultation form, and we’ll find the perfect editing approach for your manuscript.

Editing your own work is an important step, and I strongly encourage you to read through your manuscript and make sure that the big picture and the fine details align with your vision for your story before working with me. Make it the best that you can, giving yourself the grace by acknowledging that you are trying to see every detail of a forest when you’re standing amidst the trees; knowing that you may be too close to the story to notice all of its blind spots, inconsistencies, or missed opportunities.

That’s where I come in—not as a critic, but as your partner. I bring a fresh perspective, years of expertise, and a genuine love for storytelling to your project. Together, we’ll take your manuscript to the next level while staying true to your unique voice and vision.

Developmental Editing

$0.035 per word
Developmental editing is the first step in the editing process, where I focus on the big picture of your story. This includes plot structure, pacing, character development, continuity, and narrative flow. I provide a detailed editorial letter outlining major strengths and areas for improvement, along with margin comments within the manuscript. This type of editing is ideal when you’ve taken your manuscript as far as you can on your own and need high-level guidance before moving forward.

Copyediting

$0.025 per word
Copyediting improves the clarity, coherence, and consistency of your manuscript. This includes fixing grammar, punctuation, word usage, and sentence structure, while ensuring your style and voice remain intact. I also check for minor inconsistencies (such as character names, timeline issues, and formatting) and provide a style sheet to maintain consistency. This step is ideal once your story structure is solid and you’re ready for sentence-level refinement.

Proofreading

$0.015 per word
Proofreading is the final step in the editing process to ensure your manuscript is free of typos, grammatical errors, and formatting inconsistencies before publication. I provide a final quality check to catch any lingering issues after previous editing rounds and apply in-line corrections using track changes.
